Wow…you have to check out the site www.iamsecond.com  … I was in tears watching some of these stories.  Check it out …it’ll touch your life.

116.

As apart of the Bucket List series here at Crossroads the ask was put out for 100% involvement in a “Bucket List” Small Group.  It’s amazing to me how the campus has responded…last Sunday we had 118 adults in the service…check this out we had 116 participating in a “Bucket List” group…wow!  I’m so pumped about this…because it speaks to health…truth is people won’t stick around very long if they don’t feel connected or plugged in.  Anyway just proud to be apart of a campus that “get’s it”…way to go guys!

Rockstar?

Wow…. is all I can say about this video clip!!!  If for whatever reason you missed last weekend at the campus you missed what was one amazing “Air Guitar” contest.  Anyway, check it out…and vote who you think was the best “Weekend Rockstar?”

Bucket List

Last night had a great time hanging out with the Young Adults group last night…bowled an amazing 88…sweet!  PBA watchout!  Anyway, excited about tomorrows launch of the new series “Bucket List”…which got me thinking if you had to make a “Kick the Bucket List”…five things you’d want to do before you die what would they be?

Here’s mine:  1. Visit the Holy Land  2.  Visit Scotland…don’t know why…just like the idea of playing golf and wearing a kilt  3.  Pilgrimage to the birthplace of Starbucks…oh wait, I’ve already done that…be great to hit Seattle again though  4.  Catch a Dallas Cowboys game live  5. Missions Trip beyond the continental U.S

Props Go To….

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped out this past weekend with the Relay for Life Breakfast and Ministry Connection Breakfast! The Relay for Life was an especially great time just getting out and sharing that we care about our community. It was cool seeing the looks on peoples faces and overhearing the conversations of people taken back that a church would so freely give just because. Anyway…way to go to everyone who took time out of their Saturday to be there and provide food…you guys are awesome! I also want to give props to Angie and all the various Ministry Champions for pulling together the Ministry Connection Breakfast…it was a lot of fun just getting to hang out and connect with people.

GRIT Breakfast

I’m pretty pumped about the upcoming Mens Event on Saturday, Feb 28th at 8:30a.m.  It’s guaranteed to be like no other Mens Breakfast you’ve experiecned before with an all-you-can-eat breakfast, gladiator style competition, giveaways, and a special halftime speech.  This event is for men of all ages, and is completely free though donations for the food are certainly appreciated.  Anyway, I encourage you to mark it on your calendars and check out the video from a GRIT Breakfast we did back in Vancouver…hopefully it’ll get you ready to go in a few weeks.  Sign-Up at the Campus Welcome Center starting this weekend.

Black Sheep.

This past weekend I got to speak on reaching out to the one.  Fun message…used a chair to illustrate that the greatest tool we’ve got when it comes to sharing our faith is a simple chair…that place where we stop long enough to simply notice someone.  That’s really what the whole story of the Samaritan woman (John 4) is all about, it’s the story of a life transformed not so much by anything Jesus said or did but by what he didn’t do…He didn’t look past her, he didn’t look around her…he chose to notice her.  And isn’t true that some of the loudest messages we’ll ever speak happen without ever uttering a word.  See without saying anything He said everything.  He spoke into this womans life value…by simply noticing her he was saying you’re more important than my time, my comfort, my convenience…your tomorrow is worth more than my today!  See we notice what we value, and because of that we value what we notice!  Of course just as amazing as it that God would take the time to notice…it’s just as significant in terms of who He noticed.  This is a woman who had a lot of stuff going on in life…to get involved would be complex, messy, and problem ridden.   See she was the black sheep of the town.  Could it be when it comes to going after the lost sheep (Luke 15) we’re all about it until we discover that the sheep we’re called to go after is the black sheep of the bunch.  The one we’re called to notice is often the one we don’t want to notice, the one we’re called to go after is often the one we most want to get away from.  Truth is, it’s not that we don’t notice…it’s that often we don’t want to notice.  Yet if we want the world to notice Jesus we’ve got to be about noticing those the world fails to notice.  Let me ask…who is the black sheep God is calling you to notice and invest in today?

Super Ad?

What a letdown… as a lifelong Cardinals fan of 2 weeks…bummed that they couldn’t pull out the win last night.  Great game though…it was fun just keeping the night low key and relaxing.  Of course, with every great Super Bowl comes great ads…though have to say not one of the better years for ads. Still found a favorite among the marketing onslaught though…check it out below:
